Texas Spurs New Signings Announced For The 2019 Season!

Bronwyn Boswell and Kelly Machado will all be joining the Texas Spurs 2019 squad. 

Bronwyn Boswell grew up in Frisco, Texas where she started playing soccer at four years old. She played many other sports growing up including basketball, dance, volleyball, cross country, and track, but soccer has always been her passion. She played for a few club teams including ASG and Solar Chelsea ECNL. Boswell she had four successful years on her varsity soccer team at Centennial High School. She earned several awards such as District Player of the Year for two years and All-District Teams all four years. Boswell also succeeded in Cross Country by becoming an individual State Qualifier her freshman and sophomore year and a regional qualifier her junior year. Boswell followed her passion for soccer to the University of Evansville where she was able to play Division 1 soccer in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC). By the end of her four years there, she found herself on the MVC All-Freshman Team, MVC First Team, MVC All-Tournament Team, MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team, and All-Great Lakes Region Second Team. Boswell was ranked third in the nation for game-winning goals her sophomore year, and the following year she helped lead her team to win the Conference Tournament Championship to qualify for the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. Her academic and athletic success earned her the MVC Elite 18 Award that same year. Boswell finished her collegiate career with 22 goals to become the University of Evansville’s 7th All-Time Leading Scorer. Boswell has since been to Spain with the Texas Spur as well as Portugal to pursue her soccer career even further and is entering her fourth year playing in the WPSL, second with the WPSL Texas Spurs. She is sponsored by Texas Roadhouse in McKinney this season. Boswell brings a strong experience level with a great attitude and goal scoring mentality to the field.

Kelly Machado is one of the Texas Spurs veteran players. She has been with the program since the beginning and will be going into her fifth year with the Texas Spurs. Machado is from Porto Alegre, Brazil, which is where she started her playing career for Sport Club Internacional. She came to the United State for her education and played at Northwood University for four years where she made All Conference team in the 2013-2014 season.  After she was done playing for Northwood, she spent another year as the assistant coach for the University. Muchado graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and International Buisness. Machado played for the Texas Football Club and Liverpool in the WPSL. She has been a great asset to the team with many goals and assists on the board for the team. Muchado has a gracefulness to her game through her great footwork that is unique and exciting to watch. 

The Texas Spurs wants to welcome these ladies to the Texas Spurs for another season! We look forward to seeing all of you on the pitch!  Make sure to come out to their first game May 22ndat Dr. Pink Stadium in Frisco at 7PM as they take on FC Dallas!
