Coach Bert Green started coaching with Ed Puskarich in 2013 for the Texas Football Club’s WPSL team. He continued to help with the team after the team made its reappearance under the Texas Spurs name. Green has helped as a consultant, assistant coach, and fitness coach with the Texas Spurs soccer club since 2015. Green started his athletic career in soccer, baseball, football, and hockey, spending five years in the MLB, playing for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Texas Rangers. After retiring from the MLB Green went onto play collegiate football as a kicker and receiver as well as ran track for McMurry in Abilene Texas. After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Communications, Green began to educate himself in coaching and began his coaching career in 2008. He has coached high school soccer, collegiate football, and also played professional soccer in Mexico for Pachuca. Green has been a head coach of the Texas Spurs 2008 Blue team since 2018.
